So with a 4.30pm high tide and 7pm sunset, we haven't got so much to work with tonight, and with a building southerly breeze we're highly unlikely to find glassy perfection anywhere. But we're going to try one last evening at Chalkwell (www.wetndrysup.com/sup-locations/chalkwell-beach/ – nearest postcode, SS0 8JJ), keeping it tight (no further east than the Crowstone, or west than the station) for a messabout / technical session in (probably) a little bit of fun-sized chop and a light cross-onshore breeze. Obviously a 5.30pm launch is going to be way too early for most, so turn up and join us when you can, bearing in mind that we'll probably be off the water by 7.30 at the latest (not least becasue we'll have run out of water and light!) Then we're going to try the Peterboat in Old Leigh for a change for drinks and dinner – although food might be a few quid pricier than 'normal' we've heard good things since it changed hands and their kitchen should still be fully firing at 8 o'clock! Sorry, no hire kit tonight as time's just too tight to arrange the trailer.
