Connu comme le "Art Blakey canadien", inévitable maitre du bebop, Norman Marshall Villeneuve est une légende du jazz canadien. Depuis le début, Norm a perfectionné son jeu et son style dans les pas d'Art Blakey.
Après la mort d'Art blakey en 1991, Norm fonde le Norman Marshall Villeneuve's Jazz Message qui se dédie à des concerts hommages à son mentor à Toronto et Montréal pendant 24 ans.
Norm a grandi dans la petite bourgogne. Il a joué avec les plus grands : Duke Ellington, Curtis Fuller, Cootie Williams, Wayne Shorter, Junior Mance et Oliver Jones. Il a tourné à travers l'Amérique du Nord et du Sud.

Known as "Canada's Art Blakey", hard-driving bebop master Norman Marshall Villeneuve is a Canadian jazz legend. From the beginning, Norm honed his playing and leadership styles after Art Blakey. Following Mr. Blakey's death in 1991, Norm created his banner, Norman Marshall Villeneuve's Jazz Message, and has dedicated tribute concerts to his mentor in Toronto and Montreal for 24 years.
Norm grew up in Montreal's Little Burgundy. He has performed with jazz royalty: Duke Ellington, Curtis Fuller, Cootie Williams, Wayne Shorter, Junior Mance and Oliver Jones, and toured throughout North and South America.
Celebrating his 7th decade in music, Norm remains an active and beloved leader on the Canadian Jazz scene.
