Ok, so we know that doesn't mean much, but you should get excited. Vanguard owner Russall S. Beattie (The Empire Strips Back, Dames Of Throne, Jaded Vanities, Batman Follies of 1929, Project Awesome, Zombie Prom 1986...) is on his way out the door of the, having just sold the iconic Newtown venue - have no fear though The Vanguard will continue under new ownership.

But to celebrate the end of an era Russall has thrown together one more show. One last show.

So Sweet Meat was born. Created on a steady diet of Kirk’s Creaming Soda, ice cream with Fruit Loops and topping, along with a lot of painkillers, while listening to Rhianna and perusing the artwork of Mark Ryden.

This is a production showcasing LIVE MUSIC, DANCE, BURLESQUE, CIRCUS AND REALLY WEIRD OTHER THINGS from the deep corners of Russall's...... unique brain.
