Party: “SIMPLE DREAMS” - THE SONGS OF LINDA RONSTADT

“SIMPLE DREAMS”

THE SONGS OF LINDA RONSTADT starring ANGELA AYERS Long regarded as one of Australia and New Zealand's finest talents from Theatre to Cabaret Angela has had a longing to stage her tribute to an artist she's long admired, Linda Ronstadt.

Angela weaves her way through Linda’s famous songs linking humorous stories and events with hits such as” Silver Threads and Golden Needles”, “Different Drum”, “Blue Bayou”, “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore”, “Desperado”, “Just One Look”, “Poor Poor Pitiful Me” and many more. The beautiful ballads of the Gershwin great “Someone To Watch Over Me” featuring Joe Travers on acoustic guitar and Grammy Award song “Somewhere Out There” featuring Kiwi drummer and singer Kimi Tuapae are a stand out. Her backing band The Stoned Brumbies are some of Sydney’s finest musicians consisting of 2x guitars, bass, and drum and back up vocalist..

Angela says, “Linda has played an enormous part in my journey as a performer and it is an honor to bring these songs to the stage. In the 90’s Angela conceived and wrote the cabaret show I Can Cook Too, performing with legendary jazz pianist Ray Aldridge. Receiving rave reviews, The Sun Herald wrote "Never mind that she can cook, this woman can really sing cabaret. Ayers has a rich and true voice, her technique is polished and her articulation is superb."

Angela has enjoyed an amazing career! Starring in the original Australian production of A Chorus Line and Guys & Dolls with Anthony Warlow and the incomparable Ricky May, Angela has had featured roles in West Side Story, The Rocky Horror Show, Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat, Cabaret and Chicago. In New Zealand, Angela played lead roles in 42nd Street, Rush, Jerry's Girls, Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat and Mum's The Word.

Angela has toured Australia and New Zealand in Menopause The Musical and most recently she starred in the children’s musical Hairy Maclary at the Sydney Opera House over the 2013-2014 Christmas season.

Based in London in the late 80's, Angela was lured back to Australia to star in and join an incredible cast of Jerry's Girls, with Marcia Hines, Judi Connelli and Jeannie Little.

With numerous television appearances to her credit, when it comes to musical guests on television...Angela gets the call.

"HEART BEATS MIND"

Are a Sydney based pop/country duo featuring Elle May & Jordan Millar. After gaining notoriety and success as solo artists, the pair got together for a songwriting session in early 2013 and realised that they had something special together. After writing 10 songs in 2 days, the pair went into the studio and released their debut, self titled EP.

Since that moment they’ve gone on to play hundreds of shows together, and are back this year with the brand new ‘Let Go’ EP. Featuring 4 new tracks, including the single Let Go, the self produced EP has allowed them to grow from their experiences together and define their songwriting style. Recorded in both Sydney and LA and mixed in Nashville, it’s another big step forward in the musical direction that this young duo want to take.
