Originally from Canada Garrett Kato made Byron Bay his home in 2011 and has been spreading his heartfelt vocals and eerie guitar tones throughout Australia ever since. Kato cemented his place here in Australia at festivals such as Bluesfest and Splendour in the Grass and after being spotted by platinum recording artist Pete Murray found himself working with well renowned producer Anthony Lycenko (Busby Marou, Darren Middleton) on his 2013 EP LOVE. MURDER. SONGS.

Off the back of a well-received showcase at this years Canadian Music Week and an amazing response to his single ‘UFO’s’ including a 4/5 star review from triple J’s Richard Kingsmill now Garrett Kato is releasing ‘Headlights’, the heart warming second single from his heavily anticipated album That Low And Lonesome Sound.

'Headlights' is based on a true story of a failing relationship and the process of stepping away from someone you loved. These raw emotions are evident in Kato’s passionate vocal delivery and intensified by driving drum’s and clever instrumentation. 'Headlights' showcases Garrett Kato's diversity as a songwriter seeing him step away from the typical singer/songwriter roll moving into a fuller sounding band format. This musical variety is a preview for what is to be expected on That Low And Lonesome Sound, described by Kato as a multifaceted blend of songs inspired by Americana, 60’s music and modern music.
