Damn Right I’ve got the Blues and Roots!
A night of traditional blues with a bit of a spin-off in a few different directions: 3 bands, 3 treatments.

Birthday Anniversary Song writing Contest for their song about the GFC "Divine Justice Coming Down". They will make you want to get up and dance with their joyful country and ragtime blues, and send a shiver down your spine with their atmospheric feels, echoing and paying homage to the sacred sounds of early artists such as Blind Willie Johnson and The Reverend Robert Wilkins.
Bonnie Kay and The Bonafides Here is a unique sort of soulful and sass y package of blues and roots : Ope n it! Bonnie Kay, a contempora ry Ame rica n singe r/songwriter from Philly who lande d in Australia via Tokyo, uses acoustic, finge rpicking, slide -guitar techniques, plus a voice reminiscent of blues icon Bonnie Raitt's, to deliver her own red-hot, sexy sound. Her Bona fide companions ? Matt Russ ell adde d depth and support to the sound when the two became a duo. Add Jed Wesley Smith on double bass , Pere grin Chia ra on drums and Tanya Bethune on trumpet and you’ve got additiona l elements of jazz, soul and funk- a Bona fide Band with a capital B. That, there , is the whole truth.
