Opened in the year of the wall Street crash, 1929, as a tea room with only five tables, the 82 years since have witnessed four generations of the Egan family change with the town they help to create, and to date, there are still three generations of this illustrious family working at the establishment. Egan's have been involved in the ice-cream making tradition since 1930 and are credited with making the first Choc-Ice in 1942.
