A Building and Lego club for children age 3 to 12 years. Using Lego, building bricks and mega blocks. These sessions are fun filled and not only will use Lego but also other child building materials such as building blocks. The sessions will be themed every week and children will build solo projects as well as group groups.
The sessions will be held in a new children activity centre in Blackpool Cork that is due to open January 2013 and will have an especially equipped room to meet our needs.
Benefits of construction toys for kids : allow for an astonishing range of creative play opportunities. Beyond the fun factor, for younger children, the brightly coloured pieces and easily interlocking combinations provide hours of patterning practice and fine-motor development. Looking for just the right piece strengthens sorting skills, a key part of the kindergarten maths curriculum. And for all kids, Lego teaches how to think in three dimensions-- a precursor to physics. Children of all ages also hone creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork through construction play.
