She may be small of stature, but Demi Lardner can pack both a comedic and physical punch. Not only is she a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, Demi also has the 2013 National RAW Comedy title to her name.
Born and raised in Adelaide, Demi made her stand-up debut at 16. She also travelled internationally for work, having performed at the world famous Edinburgh Comedy Festival.
Demi says she was a bundle of nerves before taking to the stage in Edinburgh, but “then you just get it done”. Then came another huge gig, in Montreal.
“Montreal was good,” she says. “I got to do gigs with ridiculous people who were my idols. Paul F. Tompkins, my favourite comedian in the world, picked me to be in a show with him.”
Demi had planned to spend 2015 on the local and international comedy circuits, but that was forgotten the moment she had the chance to join Australian comedy legends on the sketch series Open Slather.
