Raising Caine:
Raising Caine is made up of an eclectic group of musicians from all over the southeast. Members of the band come from a diverse background of musical projects including Folk, Funk, Jazz, and Reggae. Raising Caine is cultivating their own take on country music by delivering a heartfelt message of hard work, family, and having a good time.
Their self-titled debut album ‘Raising Caine’ was released in 2013 and features soulful music combined with many hallmarks of alt/country music: heartfelt lyrics, backing vocals, pedal steel licks, guitar solos, and organ flavors. The album is the perfect marriage of Caine McDonald’s well-crafted songs and James Keane’s abilities as a producer.
Singer/Songwriter Nathan Caine McDonald and Guitarist/Producer James Keane met in 2010 while working carpentry in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Caine writes sincerely about what he knows: hard work, family, and love. James has over 15 years of experience in the music industry, performing in national touring band DubConscious for over 10 years, stage managing at Bonnaroo for over 4 years., and working at specialized festivals such as Gentlemen of the Road. James immediately recognized Raising Caine's potential, and went on to produce, engineer, and perform on the debut album. Caine and James have since continued their collaboration, co-writing songs and planning a follow up album for the coming year.
Raising Caine formed in Asheville, North Carolina, in 2012 and quickly gained momentum with their unique sound and songwriting abilities.
The project originated with the intention of creating country music demos but ended up as a 6-piece band with a full length album. With minimal marketing or publicity, an ever-growing fan base quickly developed. Within weeks, their music received air play on local radio, a live band was assembled, and their songs were licensed through Nicki Jack Publishing. Raising Caine soon began playing established venues in the Asheville, NC area including Isis Music Hall, the Grey Eagle Tavern, and the New Earth Music Hall. The project is poised for a bright future. Raising Caine is laying a solid musical foundation while building a network of friends and fans. Thanks for checking them out and enjoy the music!
