The open mic sign up is from 9:15pm to 9:30pm and the mic starts at 10:00pm. Comedians write their name on a slip of paper and place it into the bucket, at 10:00pm the host will grab the bucket, walk on stage, and start the show.
Comedians who pre-register on the guestlist sign up will get priority on the lineup but still need to be here before 9:30 to check in or they will not get a spot.
If you're selected it's a TIGHT 4-7 minute set depending on the turnout of comedians, that means you get blasted off with music right at the your time is up so be prepared.
It's a NO COVER, NO MINIMUM PURCHASE show however we will have drinks and food at comic pricing for everyone and those who support the club with a drink or food purchase will also get priority on the lineup.
We also have the luxury of being at Universal City Walk, this means we have lots of foot traffic and the potential to have a real audience at the open mic. Each week we have two spots for barkers, this means handing out free tickets to the open mic for 30 minutes. In most cases the Dee Burdett the Jon Lovitz Comedy Club booker will be present so do treat this as an audition for a showcase spot here at the club.
