The undisputed Master of the Jazz Organ, Joey DeFrancesco was a child prodigy born into a family of jazz musicians. By the time he was five, Joey was playing the organ hits of Jimmy Smith. At age ten, he was playing gigs in Philadelphia with Hank Mobley and Philly Joe Jones. And when he was sixteen, Joey was signed to an exclusive contract with Columbia Records. His list of musical partners is vast and varied: George Benson, Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Steve Gadd, John McLaughlin, David Sanborn, John Scofield, and Jimmy Smith. With two Grammy nominations and thirty-three albums as leader, Joey DeFrancesco makes his Bassment debut as a seasoned musician at the height of his creative powers.
