Bring your blue book, red book, case book, note book and your questions. It does not matter if you do not have all or any of these! The sessions are open to Skippers & Crew, Off the Beach boats and Keelboats. In the past, we have had PowerPoint presentations covering the basic rules and scenarios, match racing flag sequences and mock protests.
The New Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS)/(blue book) commenced on the 1st January 2017 and is with us for the next four years to 2020. The 13th March session will cover:
1. What do you want from future sessions. Do we want to start at the beginning with RRS 10 (port/Starboard), RRS 11 (Windward/Leeward), RRS 12 (Astern/Ahead), RRS 13 Tacking etc.?
2. Changes to the new blue book.
3. Talk about the red book v the blue book.
4. I know some people have some questions – please bring them and we can resolve them now or carry them forward to the next session.
5. Queries re the flags, scoring etc.
6. Times and dates for future sessions
