Background Information:
Thomas Walther is a retired lawyer and judge who brought several former Nazis to trial. In 2016, Thomas Walther joined the Central Office for the Investigation of Nazi Crimes, setting out to change the precedent on prosecuting Nazi guards.
In March of 2008 he started the investigations against John Demjanjuk, who was charged and convicted by the courts in Munich, for his participation in the extermination of Jews in the Sobibor extermination camp.
Mr. Walther has been the lead council working with a number of Holocuast survivors, in an effort to bring Oskar Groening (The Accountant of Auschwitz) to justice for his participation in murdering more than 300,000 Jews during his time as an officer with the Nazi Party. In the summer of 2015, as a result of Thomas’s efforts, with the help of various survivor testimonies, Oskar Groening (94) was finally brought to justice for his involvement in the Holocaust.
His efforts gave a voice to the millions of people who were killed in the Holocaust.
