Lounge Cat Ideals
Lounge Cat Ideals were born in the midst of a biting Bristolian winter, when a rag tag kindle of kittens huddled round a wood fire and began making their first primitive sounds to keep their tiny paws from shivering. Taking heed from the uptempo gypsy rhythms heard beneath the crackles on Papa’s gramophone, the band grew to create their own sound, weaving strands of 20’s swing with a thread of stomping blues.
Now a fully formed ensemble, with riotous clarinet lines and entwined vocal melodies augmenting the driving skanks of twin guitars, the band strive to maintain the energetic pace that keeps everyone dancing.
The Lounge Cats hopped aboard the festival circuit for the first time in 2015, seeing the sights at Boomtown Fair, causing mischief at Maui Waui (twice!), and filling the dance floor at Forgotten Fields, amongst others.
In their home territory, LCI have bought their suave live show to many a venue, including Attic Bar, Canteen, the Crofter’s Rights, the Fleece and the Louisiana. Regular adventures to the capital have also seen the band play at the Brixton Hootenanny, the Blues Kitchen (Camden) and The Gladstone (Borough).
The Cats ventured into the studio to record their first EP, releasing the Lounge Cat Ideals EP in January 2015. A follow-up EP is on the cards for early 2016 - watch this space!

Matt Montez
Matt Montez originally from Leeds UK, started his solo music career whilst travelling Australia. His music exploded after settling in the town of Nimbin surrounded by mountains, waterfalls and rainforest. Inspired by the ‘peace and love’ attitude and the beautiful tranquil surroundings, his flow of creative writing was ignited.
Matt is now touring with vocalist Gem. Together, their soulful harmonies and positive energy illuminates the stage. Gem brings another layer to the performance, vocally and spiritually as they share their musical journey together.
The music is influenced by a nomadic lifestyle and connectedness with nature. A mixture of roots, alternative acoustic and folk, bringing diverse sounds and spiritual lyrics.
